How We Work with Insurance

Our mission at Joint Action is to provide the highest level of care, personalized attention, and exceptional results for every client. To achieve this, we have chosen to operate as a cash-based practice, meaning we are not in-network with any insurance providers. This decision allows us to avoid the restrictions and limitations that insurance companies place on care options, ensuring that we can focus entirely on what works best for you. Additionally, we happily provide detailed superbills for you to submit to your insurance company for potential out-of-network reimbursement. Many of our clients find that they are able to recover a portion of their costs this way.

Here’s Why We Made This Choice

1.) Quality Over Quantity

Insurance companies often dictate the duration and frequency of appointments, limiting the time we can spend with you. By operating outside of the insurance model, we are able to dedicate the time needed to truly understand your concerns, create individualized treatment plans, and provide hands-on, thorough care during each session.

2.) Personalized Care

Every person is unique, and their treatment should reflect that. Insurance-based practices are often required to follow generic protocols, which may not fully address your specific needs. Our cash-based model allows us to tailor every aspect of your care to help you achieve the best possible outcomes.

3.) No Unnecessary Limitations

Insurance companies frequently deny or limit coverage for pelvic floor physical therapy, especially if they don’t fully understand the scope of your needs. By bypassing insurance, we eliminate those barriers and focus on what is most effective for you.

4.) Transparency and Simplicity

Navigating insurance policies can be confusing and stressful. As a cash-based practice, our pricing is straightforward and transparent. You’ll know exactly what to expect without the surprise bills or denials that often accompany insurance claims.

5.) Fewer Restrictions, Better Outcomes

Insurance often dictates what treatments can or cannot be provided, regardless of their effectiveness. By stepping away from these restrictions, we ensure that every treatment and approach we use is based on evidence, clinical expertise, and your unique needs—not on what is reimbursable.

We Still Support Your Insurance Needs

While we don’t bill insurance directly, we want to ensure that you can take full advantage of your benefits. After each session, we are happy to generate a detailed superbill for you. This document includes all the necessary information for you to submit a claim to your insurance company for possible out-of-network reimbursement We also provide initial guidance you on how to submit your superbill and provide tips for communicating with your insurance provider to maximize your reimbursement. Many of our clients find that they are able to recover a portion of their costs this way.

Our Commitment to You

Our decision to remain out-of-network is rooted in our commitment to provide exceptional care and to prioritize your needs above all else. We understand that this model may not work for everyone, but we believe it’s the best way to ensure that you receive the focused, effective, and high-quality care you deserve. If you have any questions about our billing policies, superbills, or how to approach out-of-network reimbursement, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
